Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia.
Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework while ensuring compliance with service operations. They apply specialised knowledge, analyse theoretical concepts, and adapt them to diverse work environments.
Educators may work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools, or kindergartens, and may also be responsible for supervising volunteers or other educators.
Work Placement Requirement
Minimum 280 hours in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia (as per unit assessment requirements).

Entry Requirements
Pre-requisite
Applicants must hold one of the following:
- CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care OR
- CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Academic Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Successful completion of Year 11 (Australia) or an equivalent qualification from their home country.
- Holders of an AQF qualification Level II and above.
- Industry experience without formal qualifications may also be considered.
Additional Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or above
- Must have or be willing to apply for a Working with Children’s Check
- Must meet Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) requirements

Study Information

Duration: 80 weeks (65 weeks tuition + 15 weeks holiday breaks)
